TERMS AND CONDITIONS

How to Book
To make a SUP Tour, Hire or SUP and CAMP booking, please use the contact us page to submit a request or e-mail us at marc@sup-devon.com with your enquiry. Our office number is 07875217576

Our SUP trips are limited in numbers and are therefore subject to availability, standard size for SUP is 6 per instructor.

All participants must be 18 years of age and over. Any person under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a full paying legal guardian.


Payment
We normally take full payment online at the time of booking through BACS to our business account. Off line payments will need to be done so in cash.

Trip Information and Joining Instructions:
When you book you will receive information and joining instructions for your trip, directions on how to get here, what to bring and other useful local information. Once your booking is confirmed and payment received, we guarantee there will be no price alterations or surcharges.

Hire

Full payment is required to confirm booking. 17 and under must be accompanied by an full paying adult (18+). Maximum of 1 child per 1 adult. No under 12yr old. ID required for booking, we accept valid UK driving licence, passport, armed forces or emergency personnel ID cards.

Upon hiring our equipment including hire and trips you will not take our board on fast moving water i.e. rivers with high tidal flow or high water caused by adverse weather, weirs, white water, shallow water and restricted access waterways. We reserve the right to refuse hire if we believe that the weather and conditions on the day are not suitable. FOR WEEKEND BOOKINGS A REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT OF £30 IS REQUIRED

Gift Vouchers

Gift vouchers will be sent by email only for you to print.  It will come with a unique 10 digit code which can only be used once. Please keep these codes safe. The vouchers can be redeemed for all of our services. They will hold a 12-month expiry date however if this cannot be fulfilled by you then you must notify us so we can arrange for it to be carried over. We do not offer refunds on gift vouchers.

General

We recommend you carry your own personal liability insurance. If found that the equipment hired has been used in locations not suitable for hire you will be charged for any damage incurred. SUP Devon will not be held responsible for any personal injury to you or your party caused by any negligence by you or members of your party including but not exclusive to misuse of equipment.

All waterways differ and some trips offered will be on slow rivers as well as coastal areas which can be affected by tidal and wind movement, therefore you must assure us that you can SUP proficiently kneeling or standing and know what to do in the event of a fall into the water. We reserve the right to cancel a hire booking if we believe you would put yourselves and others in danger. Please note we observe a STRICT NO ALCOHOL policy with all hire and sessions.

Cancelling your Booking or Changing your Dates

We require at least 5 days’ notice of your cancellation. Upon this an alternative date will be offered then a credit note. Full refunds can only be issued prior and up to the 5-day cut off.


Please note that we do not offer any refunds for cancellations within 48hrs of your session. In exceptional circumstances we may offer an alternative launch date and/or credit note.

If you wish to cancel after the 5-day notice but before 48hrs of your session we can only offer a credit note or alternative date.

Cancellations by SUP Devon
Our trips will run as per the daily schedule, unless there are circumstances beyond our control – such as adverse weather conditions. If we do have to cancel you will be able to choose an alternative date or receive a full refund. Please note that if we decide to cancel a session due to adverse weather, we will notify you within and up to 24hrs before your session via the contact information you have given on your booking form. The wind is the key factor to cancelling a sessions as high winds can create dangerous situations adverse sea conditions and our safety guidelines dictate the conditions.
 


Weather & Tides
Sadly, we cannot control the weather, tides, river flow or especially sea state therefore in the event that the weather, tide, flow or sea conditions are not suitable, cancellation of your session may occur and an alternative date will be discussed or alternatively a refund of the fees paid. Notification of cancellation due to weather will be made 24hrs before your session. Due to the weather being unpredictable we will not cancel a session prior to the 24hrs notice stated above.

Launch Times
Please note that our launch times are dictated by the tides if paddling on a tidal river or coastal area of water and we ask that all paddlers arrive for induction 30 minutes prior to launch, please note that we are unable to delay launching if you are late for a session and we have launched, refunds for late arrival cannot be given. As such, please ensure you allow plenty of time to arrive for your induction.

Insurance & Liability
SUP Devon has a comprehensive public liability insurance policy provided by SUPinsure MerciaMarine, a copy of which can be viewed upon request. Bookings DO NOT include personal travel or accident insurance for paddlers. Please ask your insurers for full details of the necessary insurance required to cover you for taking part in your activity. All participants understand that SUP Devon and its employees do not except responsibility for any loss, injuries, or damages to themselves or others property during or after the hire period.

Medical Forms
Please advise us upon or prior to bookings if you have any medical conditions that may affect your safety on the water, we ask that all guests are able to swim at least 30 metres unaided for their own safety. Food supplied for our overnight camp trips will be discussed prior to booking and you and your party take any responsibility for food consumed or supplied by us. Food requirements including allergies MUST BE NOTIFIED PRIOR TO BOOKING

Use and Damage to Kit
All participants must wear the supplied PFD (personal floatation device/buoyancy aid) and appropriate leash provided at all times, when on the water. Any refusal or non-compliance will result in the session or hire being terminated without refund.


We have made great investment to ensure the quality of the equipment we use for our sessions and hire and we ask that all our equipment is used for the purpose for which it was designed and that due attention and care is given to all equipment. Any damages that occur as a result of negligence or malicious acts or carelessness will be subject to a charge for the replacement of said kit at the current market value.
